I don't get it. Artificial wigs, I went shopping for halloween and bought a few and after a few minutes of having them around me, I get an itchy throat, my lungs start to feel sore and itchy and I just get a weird allergic reaction to them.

WHY!?

  1. It is possibly the materials they are made of. Look at the labels and see what they have in them and try to avoid any other items with these same materials.

I mentioned in an earlier answer that you may have an allergy to something, and I think you may have found it.

Just call me Dr. Killpatient, ha,ha.

  2. Consider what they are made of and what they are dyed with. Some of the dyes are toxic!

Also they are likely full of dust, pollens and other nasty stuffs.

If you want to wear them maybe you could wash them? Your shampoo in a bowl of comfortable water, swish them around a bit, bowls of rinse water, then finish with some of your hair conditioner.

  3. Some wigs are made from animal hair.  That could be it.
