  1. Some e-mail providers treat Group invitations like junk mail or bulk mail, thus routing them away from the main inbox.  If your relatives have a Bulk or Spam folder, they can check that if they want to find your invitation.  Or you could send them a separate e-mail, mentioning your Group; be sure to include a copy of the web address of your Group's home page in the text of such an e-mail.

You can't tell yourself whether or not it was received.  But you can make sure it was sent.  To check this, sign in to your Group's web site.  Then click on Management on the left-hand side of the page.  Then click on Memberships under Group Activity.  You'll then see a list of the most recent 30 membership-related changes to your Group (joining Group, leaving Group, and inviting someone).  If need be, you can type Invite into the Search Logs box just above the upper-left-hand corner of the list, and click the Search button just to the right of this box; this will show the 30 most recent invitations sent from your Group (or all of them if there are less than 30).

  2. there is no status of invites, other than looking in the groups activity logs under membership to be sure it was sent.

many mail providers see these invites as spam, and the person you invited never get them.

since this is not a closed group, send the URL of the group from your web browser, copy and paste it to e-mail and send it that what. they click the link, and join per the big blue tab Join This Group on the right top
