  1. YES. The only time I ever heard of mail not getting delivered to a house was when my step brother had his income tax check sent to my moms house and their mail box atually says their last name on the box. It was really weird and no one understood why they would still not just deliver it to the house. His check actually got lost and I don't know if he ever gotten it to this day. But in your case the letter will arrive at the adress you sent it to no matter what name you put on it.  


  2. Of course!  The postman has no way of knowing WHO lives at a specific address.... he/she just puts the mail for that address in the mailbox and goes on his/her merry way!

    This is why people frequently get mail for former tenants/owners at their home -  the mail people have no idea (and don't really care) WHO the mail is for.  Is just an "address thing"!
