I sent payment for my self employment taxes what happens nest ?

I sent payment for my 2005-2007 taxes self employed commercial fisherman. What happens next and how long ? What tax papers do I show to get a loan from the bank ?? Do I use a receipt from the irs ?? Im confused. thanks for your help

  1. Did you file your tax returns or you have only sent the payment check?

    If on your tax return, you have a refund you will get a refund check. If you had sent check with your tax return, then check your bank statement.


  2. What are you expecting?  Nest?  Dancing girls and a brass band?  Nothing happens.  If the bank wants a copy of something  its no big deal.  IRS won't give you a receipt unless you pay cash.

  3. Lenders generally want to see copies of your tax returns from the last few years.  If they doubt that they are valid, they might ask you to show confirmation that they are correct, and you might have to request transcripts from the IRS

  4. Just use the copy of the tax returns that you just filed to get your bank loan.  Did you file the tax returns yourself or did you use a tax preparer?  Any tax preparer will give you a copy of the tax return that was filed.

    If you still owe the IRS any interest or penalties, they will send you a notice with a bill.
