okay, so I dropped off my resume at this private school, for a job as a teacher's aide.

I called a few days later to follow up, and the woman said, "oh yes, Mrs. Shultz got your resume, we're just waiting to hear back from David, so you should hear from us on Monday"

I don't know who David or Mrs. Shultz is.. I just said, "okay, thanks" cause I was sort of flustered.

Anyways, I haven't heard anything, should I call again? if so, what should I say?

  1. Call back and say "Hello, I was told I'd get a call back on a resume I dropped off _ days ago and I didn't, I was just wondering if there was any opportunity for me with your school." and they'll take it from there. Don't be shy!

  2. If today is the Monday that the woman was referring to, then I would give it a few more days before I called back.  It is good to be persistent, but give them a couple of days from Monday to get to it.  Don't give up though.

I have employed many people in my business and it is always good to see a person who is enthusiastic about getting employment.

    Good Luck.

Edit:  When you call back, just ask them if they have had the time to review your resume and if they would like any other information about you, references - etc.

  3. call again, DOUBLE check the number and if they ask if you already called, say NOPE!

  4. Nice Guys Finish last But good things happen to People who wait !

  5. You should call again, it's not that you're being persistent. You're just showing that you're interested in a position that has become available. It will show your will to work as a Teachers aide!

  6. give it a few days and if they dont call, then you should call them

  7. david could be the principal of the school

relax they will call u soon i think u got the job

  8. I think you should call again, theres no problem there. Just explain who you are more clearly, I guess. I wouldnt call again 2 hours later, but with the amount of calls that the school receives, I am sure that you are safe with calling a day or two later. Good Luck with the job!

  9. No.  You should call a public school b/c they get paid twice as much as private schools.

  10. yes call back and tell them about last times conversation tell them exactly wat happened and tell them your not mrs. shultz and udont no who david is tell them again about your resume and check out what they say

    hope i helped

  11. You should call back, and if they think that you are Mrs.Shultz then tell them the truth that you were confused about what they said. If they don't bring it up ask about the resume and what you were orignally going to ask.

  12. I don't know when this was.  Did she mean this Monday, today?  If so, you could try calling tomorrow if you've not heard, and just make a polite inquiry.

  13. IT's never a bad idea to call to check again.  It shows that you are interested.  I have worked in HR and sometimes a person needed to call in order for you to stop what you're doing and look at the persons resume.  Don't be afraid to ask questions.  If they say Mrs Shultz isn't in ask "What would be a better time to call?"  and "Do you know if the aide position is still open?"  Be polite and very nice.  Everyone likes a nice person.  Good luck.

  14. Call back and continue to be persistent.  Ask for the person who is doing the screening of the apps/resume.  If and when you talk to that person tell them who you are, did you receive my information, you are still very interested in the position, you are available for an interview ASAP and reveiw your qualifications.  Then ask what is the timeline for the hiring of that position.  Thank that person for their time and once again tell them your name.

It does not hurt to be persistent.  If the person hiring gets upset with you for calling, then it is probably not a good place to work.

  15. No, I'd just wait.

  16. call back and say hello tell her who you are and tell her you are calling to get a en quire on your job application and let her answer your question and see what happens.goodluck

  17. wait because u have to wait 4 that person to come up and say if u get the job or not so yah thats wat happend to me!!!:)

  18. call back if they said monday and didn't deliver someone needs to be called on it

  19. yea stupid.

  20. If you do, give it a week or two, depending on when the school year is starting, like right now here in most states teachers and kids are getting back at it, so it is HECTIC! (USA)

I would also call and check on a Friday, because after a full school week with the kids driving them nuts, they should be in better moods on a Friday to discuss follow up...NOT on a Monday...We all hate Mondays. ;)

    Good luck!

  21. I would give it some time and then call back.   This time of year is crazy, so they might just not have a chance to return the call.
