Question:

I set up a group, myself as owner/moderator. How can I look at the set up for moderator/owner.?

My group site does not show the colour crown showing me as moderator. I want to make sure nobody has tampered with the settings for owner/moderator. And I may wish to make changes at some point. But I can't find where to look/make changes.

The reason I'm asking now is that messages/new memberships are getting posted without my approval, as I had originally set up.

  1. go to members list- click moderator tab- there should list moderators and owners with blue and yellow crowns.

to check your posting moderation- management- under group settings click messages- Posting and

Archives (Edit) <-- click the edit- 3rd column is moderation- check to see what it's set at, and changes made here click save changes-

it is possible that if you have reset these settings at any time and once had the group unmoderated, those member who were member prior will not be affected by this change. changes here only affect those who join after.

you can edit per member moderation by locating them in the members list- clicking edit membership below their ID, scroll to bottom of page "Posting Messages:    Override: This member's posts are always moderated (Edit) " <-- click edit- next page gives you choices of posting abilities. this is also how you would unmoderate members

you can also go to management- under group activity click moderator activity and view changes made within your group and by whom. generally only those with the priviledges to do so can.

  2. If you are the owner/privileged moderator here is how you can do that
