I set up a yahoo group with a yahoo email address which after changing the password (and due to not being able to remember the details I input for my profile) I lost the email address. Now I cannot moderate my group-can I change to my new email address???

  1. No, you're pretty much stuck.

To regain your ownership in your group you must be able to either receive emails at the address you used in the group, or sign in to the account you used in the group.

Since the email you used in the group was the email address associated with your Yahoo account, and you've lost that password, you've lost access to both.

If you had already appointed a co-owner in the group they could make your new account a co-owner.

Failing that, your only hope is to remember your details well enough to convince Yahoo Customer Care to reset the password of your original account.

A footnote: if you can't remember your details because you falsified them don't expect much sympathy from Customer Care -- false registration info is a TOS violation (paragraph 3).

  2. this is a tough place to be. if you cant remember your account info in order to regain it, Yahoo cant help without that. I suppose that e-mail was the account attached to you being owner?

really, the only way to change e-mail address is being able to log onto the account thats attached to that group. if you cant log into that account, or remember account info- not sure Yahoo would be able to help or not, but you can try

    Help form

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

What if I forgot my password and/or Yahoo! ID?

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or...

if you can log onto your group with the owner account, you click edit membership- scroll to e-mail address- click the link

(Add new email address) and follow steps and confirm address (it explains this on the page) then you go back to edit membership and check that new address once it's been confirmed
