I ship out to MCRD San Diego in two weeks and was wondering if I could get some advice on the first few days?

Obviously I am a enlisted into the DEP of the USMC so I would appreciate only Marines who have been through boot camp. I know that you cannot tell me everything and I have to learn on the go and for my own but any advice would be great. Thanks

  1. The first couple of days can be confusing and scary for many. Usually, when you arrived by bus into MCRD, you'll be arriving there very late at night or very, very early in the morning. You will spend that first couple of days getting your supplies, filling out some paper work, getting hair cuts and storing your civilian articles & clothing you bought with you. You will then spend some time in "receiving" for several additional days until you take the IST. Once you pass the IST, you and your fellow recruits will be assigned to a company and platoon the next day or so. You will meet the Company's chain of command in addition to your SDI and DIs.

  2. here it goes... youre the worst recruit...youre the worst platoon and you suck like no one else but hey thats what they tell everyone...Drill instructors are like actors its all staged even when you think something is going really really bad its all staged the make you mess up on purpose so they can pick on you so dont get too stressed out and just go with the flow even if you spend 30 or 40 minutes just putting your socks on

  3. I posted the USMC boot camp videos on my web site ..Just go to my profile page and click the link there..Then click the BOOT CAMP videos page..The 10 minute one is the first few days of boot camp and those videos are real.

Be sure to read the INFO and KNOWLEDGE pages..They will help you.

If you have not seen the documentary for boot camp called, EARS OPEN, EYEBALLS CLICK in its entirety then email me and ill send you the link.
