  1. If you ski park center mount them, you will still be able to ski the whole mountain but will have better contol when riding switch.

  2. You should mount them as the manufacture says you should. Most skis have either a marking or a plate that signifies the proper place to mount bindings. You should ask you local ski shop to mount the bindings on the skis and just ride. there is no real reason to have to change them. Also you can work on your skills while skiing with the family doing back 180's and whatnot.

  3. Some of these people are wrong as you probably can figure if you center mount and ski powder your tips are likely to dive and make you go over the "handlebars"

take a k2 ski for example here are the pro's and con's for center mounting

    well,

Advantages: better skiing switch, because you have more of a tail, so you go faster; easier to rotate because the tip lengths are easier on each side; balances on rails and boxes better; I've found that because center-mounting distributes weight in the center of the ski, they dig in better in ice, which is a good thing if you have an icy pipe or lip you're gonna hit.

Disadvantages: powder, with your weight more forward, you have a better chance of tip-diving, however, depending on the ratio of your weight and height to the size of your ski (i.e, if your 5' 6" like me and ride, say, 189 viciouses (I ride 169 viciouses, btw, but just for effect)) you can mount center and still float like mad; Can't turn as quickly, so center-mounting provides difficulty in moguls, trees, or real technical terrain where short turns are probably needed; Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing that center-mounted skis probably don't hold an edge as well as 3+ to midsole mounted skis

Bottom line: centermount for park and pipe, go in-between (3+ to 5+) for all-mt and backcountry, of course, like I said, depending on the ski

My Fujatives are mounted +10.5 true center and they rock but its just person preference.

  4. use your center mount. This will help you balance and also float on powder

    Hope this helps

  5. In the upright and locked position.

  6. if you are doing mostly park and a little bit of all mounain you can still use a core center mount....i just switched to center mount and although it takes a little while to get used to, they ski fine. after a day or two you wont even notice the difference.

also, if you want you can demo a pair of skis that are center mounted from a freestlye shop and see how you like um.
