I've been using a step stool that is about 8 inches off of the ground - I was just sitting down in the shower and somehow I slipped on my butt. I felt my belly bounce upward, but I have no pain or bleeding.

I dred going to the emergency room - I was there once for bleeding at about ten weeks - I was there for 4 hours until they gave me an ultrasound - I saw my baby and her heartbeat. I thought everything was ok until they sent me home with papers saying that I could still potentially miscarry.

My doctors appt won't be until the 10th of June.

Have you slipped or fallen while pregnant?

  1. When I was around 16 weeks, I fell. I got up out of a chair walked a few steps, and boom, I feel straight down. Luckily I landed straight on my knee's. I am heavy already so I thought maybe something had happened to the baby because of the jolt, but I only asked my mom about who is an RN and she said that everything was probably fine. I never called or anything. Everything was fine. No other mishaps..lol.. I am 31 weeks now!! Good Luck! call your DR on call and see what they say to do. If they are concerned they will have you go to labor and delivery to be monitored..

  2. I fell down a flight of stairs when i was 5 months pregnant, baby was ok - luckily.  I was sore for weeks though around my tummy area and my back.  They say baby is protected and there is lots of cushioning for them from the amniotic fluid and ur body is made for protecting them  kind of like air bags for cars (lol)- our tummy is meant to be the safest place 4 them as long as we stay healthy.  but always get checked out if u suffer any injuries it always pays to be cautious.

  3. There is no way to know for sure without getting looked at by a professional, However, only 8 inches, and landing straight down on your butt? Hmm, you know I highly doubt you will have a problem caused by that, it might seem odd of me to mention this, however, it is safe to have relatively rough s*x without causing any harm to the baby due to all the protective fluids and such, so I have a reason to believe that one 8 inch fall wont harm you or the child, just try to be a bit more careful, I still suggest finding a doctor that can check you out just in case :) Good luck with the newborn :)

  4. If you can call your doctor or an insurance nurses hot-line, they can tell you how urgent it is. If you want to avoid a trip to the ER, ask them to set up an appointment for tomorrow (if you need one). Whatever you decide to do, make sure your doctor knows what happened, just in case.

  5. I think you should think positive......eventhough you have an appt.on the 10th of june try to not stress yourself out remember your living for two now

  6. i fell off a 4-wheeler when i was pregnant (mind you, i had no idea at the time) but everything turned out fine and he's a happy, healthy 7 year old now

  7. you really need to go to the hospital.

tell them what happend and im sure they will get you in asap.

dont mess around with this, its a human life.

    sweety good luck!

  8. I've known a few ladies who have fallen and she and baby were fine. If you have no pain or bleeding then I would think you're okay but it may be best to go and checked in case xxxx
