...punisment...i was just wondering what i can expect for punishment, this is the first time i have done anything bad in my life and i regret it greatly...thanks for your time...

I doubt you'll get 99 years in the electric chair but you may get a fine.

It's hard to say now days as to how much that fine might be.

yep - i agree.  replace the mailbox & make a heartfelt apology to the owner.  Swear in court this will never happen again and if necessary stop drinking until the court case is over.

probation and probably a fine.

this may sound wild but if it had mail in it at the time it's considered a federal offense!

otherwise a fine and community service.
