i advertised this 1991 jeep wrangler on craigslist i put it had 155k miles on the dash which it did..this kid came checked it out monday this week .. he liked it we negotiate a fair price he checked it out i told him the little knick knacks it has a little stuff it needed.. he wanted to cut me a check ..i said no! tuesday morning he comes checks out the jeep again for another hour he was 18 years old of legal age and with a valid drivers license before he even handed me any cash he asked to see the title the title says 200010 miles reported the last owner didnt know english and messed up .. the 18 year guy noted it and i told him .. then he compared the vin# to the jeep everything good! he asks me to write him a receipt i did and i put no warranty or guarantee once it leaves my property sold as-is . he didnt care about nothing ..his father calls me saying i misrepresented the mileage when i showed him before he even bought it ..im guess his father didnt like it and now wants money back

  1. there is no way, you had a contract with the son who is over the legal age to sign contracts. The father should of came with the son.. also do you have a copy of the contract so if they try anything you can show the court, but thats if that escalates that far which i dont think it will..

  2. He could try to take you to small claims, but he would lose. If you truly disclosed the odometer issue and wrote a bill of sale with the "no warranty, as-is" piece, you're covered even more than you normally would be. All private, used car sales are as-is.

  3. Tell the father to go pound sand. It sounds to me like you did everything right. You don't owe them a dime, and you do not have to take the car back. If the father keeps calling you, report him to the police for harassment.

  4. First of all the milage doesn't matter with that older of vehicle . The title should have said exempt on it for the milage. It's to oldto matter. You do have a contactwith that boy and not with has dad.If you told he all that you know about the vehicle and it said sold as is on the paper then you have no problem.

  5. he is a major idiot you sold it as is i dont think you have a problem. i think you will be fine.
