They announced a 5p per share dividend a few weeks ago. I sold my shares today. Will I still get the 5p dividend?

  1. Like said, if you have sold before any dividends release then you are not entitled for any benefits as you do not own the shares anymore

  2. You'll get whatever it was when you sold

  3. Depends on the "Qualifying Date"

  4. Not so smart after all, huh SIR BOZO. You need to find out what dividens were being paid when you sold. Besides history and English you need to educate yourself on finances as well, you "STOOPID" Brit.

  5. Did you sell *** div or ex div ?  (in case the bigoted censor does it usual thing, the word is c u m, meaning with)

  6. Yes. They went ex-div on 28/5. So if you sell on that day or after you sell without (Ex) the dividend, so it's yours. Pay date is 31/7

  7. BA went ex-div on May 28, so you should get the dividend.  Ex-dividend date is the first day the seller keeps the dividend after selling the stock.  It won't be paid until July 31, though.

  8. If you owned the stock on the day the dividend was declared, I believe you will get it. I got dividends on things I did not have at the time of the distribution.

  9. It depends on when the ex-dividend date was and if you actually owned the shares when that date passed. Looking it up the ex-dividend date was Wednesday May 28 so assumed you had the shares on that date, since it was not so long ago, I would expect you to get the 5p dividend even though you have now sold your shares. Lucky you!
