  1. at least you have as levels.

i would be happy with BCCC in gcse never mind as level

i did c**p at school i got D-f in my 11 gcse's i was predicted much better b-d in all of them

i couldnt do as or a levels

now i have to pay to retake them

u are still young enough to do them again for free so why not?

you will do much better next time

your mum should be more supportive of you

she should be proud of you ask her why she isnt

  2. If your spelling is anything to go by, I am not surprised.

  3. Don't worry about it. You mentioned that these are your AS grades so you still have another year to go. You might do better in your A Level exams which will raise your grades up. Alternatively you could resit some of your exams which would push your AS grades up. When applying for university, they do look at your predicted grades so if you feel concerned about this, talk to a teacher or a Connexions adviser and they can help you decide what to do next. Good luck.

  4. I only did one AS resit in january of my second year of sixth form but it seriously boosted my mark (wouldn't have got an A in economics without it). With resits I think it is about picking your battles, choose the modules that you think you could have done better on and there is room for a big improvement on. So with AS economics I choose the module that was my worst mark but also the biggest module, so the extra marks I got were worth more. Some AS level subjects have two modules worth 30% and one worth 40%, so if you are going to resit one then the 40% might be better. If you try and resit too much at once whilst still studying for your A2 exams then it could mean that you won't improve.

  5. No point in harping on the past...focus on the here and now and decide your next move

  6. Don't worry about it.  Seriously.  They are good grades, you maybe just struggle with the examination side of things.  You can still apply for medicine because you may still get AAAB at A2...speak to your lecturers about whether you could still achieve this and get some help with a more effective revision strategy.

Don't forget you can always re-sit AS modules...I re-sat 3 and went up by 2 grades in all of them.

  7. as long as you did your best, your mum should be proud, you passed! throw a party!

  8. Well practice is the best thing to do.Do exercises, the ones that got mistakes re-do it again till you get it right. Then review the notes you wrote in class.Revise your books.

    Print It!

    Hope it works!:)

  9. Why don't you talk to somebody at your school/college?

Perhaps you could retake some modules and bring your grades up? Or see if you can retake a year and apply for medicine for 2009?

  10. Grade Challenges

The College provides an appeal procedure if you believe that a recorded grade is not the one earned in a course:

See the course instructor to resolve the matter.

If resolution is not achieved, consult with the Department Chairperson.

If resolution is still not achieved, appeal to the Committee on Academic Performance.

It should be noted that only the instructor of a course makes a grade change. Other steps in the appeal process are advisory. You are urged to retain all graded work until final grades have been received from the College.

No appeal for a change of a grade will be considered after three years have elapsed since the end of the semester or session in which the grade was received.

    Transcripts

A transcript is a document that details the semesters you were enrolled, the courses you took and the grades you received.

If you need to have a copy of your transcript sent to another college or an employer, you may request an official copy by completing the transcript request form and submitting it with the $2 fee to the Admissions office.

    Why not Skilled Nursing?????

  11. Even though there's a great chance that you won't be accepted directly onto a Medicine course, it doesn't mean that you have to give up on it completely.

A lot of students who don't get into these hard courses like medicine/vet med etc often start off at University doing a related degree like Neuroscience, Biomedical Science... then do a "gateway" to medicine type programme.

Speak with your careers advisor at your school, and also do some research to see about some of these gateway courses. No need to be disappointed - they are still good grades

  12. they are good grades, there all a pass :) u can have a great job with them grades :)

  13. Sorry to hear about your grades..

Some people just don't do well testing so you might want to talk to your instructors to improve you testing skills...

Maybe you can fight / appeal the test scores and retake it...

I'd say don't lose too much sleep over it..you know your weakness now you just need to work on it....

    Good luck.

  14. Its not all over yet!

You can stil work hard but you may have to retake your AS modules which i wouldnt recommend alongside doing A2.

I would recommend that you do your AS again. Its probably your exam technique that you need work on so speak to your teachers about it and ask them what they would recommend you doing.

  15. Dude

    Dont do this

You can and Will be admitted to medicine. The universities make their decisions on predicted an actual grades. Get your teachers to up the grades and maybe write a little letter explaining that you must to this course.

I need BBC for my uni and I got BCD last year and I convinced them to  up it too ABC. ITs in their interest because the better the uni you go to the better it looks for them

    and your grades are fine.

  16. you need to focus on the future because they are good grades because at least you passed, i haven't got mine cos i'm starting again to do different subjects, at the end of the day you tried your best and your mum should be more supportive of you my friend got all A's in his and then his mum said where are the stars (*)  - you can't get A* at AS and A Level anyways you just need to focus on the future and look at as many universities as possible and order prospectuses don't just look at 2 or 3 you need to try as many as possible.

    just enjoy your college life

    good luck

  17. Its a pass! I think its really good. as long as you did your best!

  18. You will just have to be a hairdresser

  19. Well, I'm certainly glad you can't now! You'd NEVER get into medical school with spelling, grammar and punctuation like that! Nearly every single word in that question is spelt incorrectly! Yes, you need good English for medicine - don't you know that poor spelling could be fatal?

If you spelt like that in your exams - no wonder you didn't get the grades you were predicted! I didn't think you could get into medical school with Advanced Stupidity grades anyway? Yes, that's how much I think of AS levels - I've seen the papers and my O-levels were harder! I could send any one of you A-Level students one of my O-Level papers and the only question you'd get right would be your name!

Sorry, but I've seen the standard being chucked out of secondary schools these days - and it's abysmal! Most are semi-literate (just like you) and most can't do simple maths. Would I want to put my health in your hands? I'd rather trust Harold Shipman!

  20. Just work hard at A2 and you'll be able to make up the grades.

  21. retake the year

  22. Is there a college course you could do like HND that would get you to where you are going? I got an ordinary National Diploma and ended up on the Computer Studies degree course. Otherwise perhaps you could resit some of the exams. Is there somewhere else that will take you with those grades?

Alternatively think about if you really want to do medicine, or were you doing that because your parents wanted you to. We spend so much of our lives working, you may as well be happy in what you are doing.

The grades sound pretty good to me, so well done.

P.S. Save those dodgy spellings for your phone if you are not aware how to use predictive text.

  23. Grades are not the be all and end all of everything, but I can understand why you are upset.  Sometimes exams are so stressful that you don't do as well as you expect just because of the pressure.  It doesn't mean you won't make a good doctor.  Given that you didn't get the grades, if its still what you want to do, retake the year.  Think of solutions rather than the problem.... You got the grades move on from it and think about what you want in your life.

Trust me in ten years you will have forgotten about your A levels and have moved on in life, they are just a means to an end
