I speak way too fast ..how do I slow down?

I speak really fast and I never realized it since my friends and office collegues are used to my pace of talking..however I did realise how fast I was when I was talking to a phone banking officer and both of use literally spent a lot of time trying to get each other understood about what we were trying to say..any tips on how to slow down..thanks

I am in the same situation, whether if speaking Spanish, English or French and the frustrating thing about it is that when I slow down, people notice my accent more :(

My best advise is to realise that some people don't catch onto our speech as well as others do. It's all about adapting to the other person.
