I am a soccer goalie and I sprained my wrist in a shootout in may pretty badly. I went to the emergency room and they put on a partial cast and x-rayed it. They did find a few abnormalities in my x-ray, but the doctor touched my wrist in the area of it and I said it wasn't bad. The thing is that I was in just so much pain overall that I really couldn't tell where it was coming from and I just wanted him to stop. I was unable to move it at all and had to keep it in the partial cast for 2 weeks before I could put it in a brace. 4 weeks after my injury at finals, I played but taped my wrist up really well, but now, august 9th it still hurts me to bend it backwards or pull/push anything with it. It's not like shooting pains like at first, should I see a doctor about this? what should I do about soccer which starts again in september for me?

do you think the doctor can even do anything about it? I mean, he cant do x-rays or anything cuz we already have some and I still cant pinpoint the origin of the pain.

  1. you should get the xrays done again, because it will show differently. if the abnormalities are still there, then it hasn't healed. it's possible you've caused more problems by playing the finals.

so go see the doctor, see if there's anything that can be done. if you must play soccer, then use a heavy wrist brace that won't allow your hand to bend backwards.
