I stabbed the surround of my Kicker sub. Its one of those square ones. Whats the best way to go about repair?

Ive heard both silicone and tire repair kit. Anyone personally repaired a kicker before??

  1. There is no need to call kicker.  RVT Silicone will hold up just fine for small repairs on the surround and cone.


  2. How bad is the wound? If it's minor I'd leave it alone. If you have to fix it I'd use a very small amount of rubber cement (use a qtip).

  3. Dumb ***. Just kidding I've done it a bunch of times, particularly when my friends decide I should install a whole system in some garage with no light and no heat around Christmas time when it's 20 degrees out. GE's Silicone II or III pure silicone. Get it from the back side, of course.

  4. listen to Jaymee, the sound pressure from the bass inside of the box will rip apart any repair that you do

Yes i have repaired many subwoofers.But the only way is to call kicker and ask if you can buy a new surround.Patching will never work to much air pressure it will fail dont waste your time.Also any thing you use to repair it can throw off the alignment causing the voice coil to rub causing distortion,failure.(405)624-8510. is kickers #
