I start college next week?

i did my fasfa my efc was 0 so when will the first check come out after a semeter or before it

I doesn't really work like that with fafsa. You will get awarded by fafsa and should receive a financial aid packet for your school. If after your tuition is paid there is money left over your school should issue you a refund check. Since your EFC is 0 then you should be getting a great amount of financial aid.

A zero EFC usually indicates you will benefit from receiving the maximum amount of Pell money, providing you have not received a prior bachelors degree.  

In order to receive a refund check for living expenses,  you must have received more financial aid (grants & loans) than your direct charges from the school (tuition & fees).  

Each school will set its own policy on when refund checks are issued in accordance with federal requirements.  You will want to talk to your Student Accounts or Bursar office on campus to find out how the refund checks are handled and when you can expect to recieve one.

Please also keep in mind that you must have completed all of the required paperwork through your school and lenders and have received enough in disbursements of each type of fund that will add up to you receiving a refund check - before it can be issued to you.
