  1. A blister while running is not normal, this is an indication of your shoes not fitting properly.  Also could be a factor of the type of socks you wear.  First, get a good fitted running shoe, rule of thumb your toes should be a thumbnail length away from the end of a shoe.  Typically by a shoe 1 size bigger then your biggest foot.

Second, buy a good pair of double lined running socks, they are a bit on the expensive side usually 15$ CD (7 pounds).  But well worth the investment, I started wearing them when running and never went back to the cheap sports socks.

Also you can try body glide on the bottom of your feet.  This may help as well.  Most of all buy a good pair of shoes made for running.  There are many great shoes on the market.  Which one is right for you?  Head off to a store that specializes in running and have a knowledgeable sales person fit your feet.  They typically will see the type of foot you have and watch you while you run to see if you have a pronation of some sort.

    Good luck

  2. Eight weeks is plenty of time to toughen up your feet. Just keep at it. There are lots of products at Boots for blisters; ask the chemist. Moleskin is a personal favourite.

One thing NOT to do: DON'T wear two pair of socks. It will make things worse not better.

  3. Where do you get the blisters?

For example, if you get them on the end of your toes, or blackened toe nails you trainers are a bit small (your feet swell as you run).

You could look at your trainers to see if there are any spots in them that stick out and will rub your feet as well

Wear clean, dry socks with every run.

You could run a shorter distance (so that you dont get the blisters in the first place), coupled with other cardio training such as swimming or cycling.

If you have a blister, cover it with a plaster before your next run, you can get packs designed for blisters (though these are thicker than plasters - wear them normally and a thinner plaster for your run - the blister ones are designed to promote healing, the plasters are just for protection)

Vaseline might help with the spots that rub

It possible that the first blister while it healed left a weaker section of skin and as such every run rubs this new skin too much causing another blister - so thats why to protect the area. Normally I would say have a week or 2 doing other things but with 8 weeks to go you do need to get your running up to scratch, and use other exercises to do most of your cardio work

  4. blisters can be caused my many things, you might not have broken into your shoes and your feet dont have room to expand.

  5. My sister is in training right now and she uses mole skin to prevent blisters. For the ones you already have you can put on second skin and then a band-aid to prevent the blister from hurting even more.

  6. Eventually your feet will get used to the way your shoes rub against your feet. In the meantime, try rubbing vaseline on blisters you have and spots that you're likely to get blisters, then put a bandaid or something over your blisters.

You can also try socks that have padding where your likely to get blisters. I got these ones from Nike:
