I started a business doing party invitations, favors, bridal accessories etc... I have sent out letters to area churchs, function facilities, etc and was wondering if anyone has any other ideas on cheap or free andvertising??

Here would be my list of ways to get free and cheap advertising

#1 post ads on Craiglist, Backpage, Usfreeads, Kijijii

#2 submit articles and press releases

#3Get a web site

#4 do JV with someone who has a established mail list

set up a website, get your website listed with google and yahoo and then use some free classified sites online such as:

olx.com

make sure to mention your website on anything you advertise with afterwords

I would start off by putting an ad on craigslist continously. (take a look at their rules and guidelines before you do)

If this is a local business than I would do local SEO along with local search engine marketing

Send a followup letter to those places you've sent, with a sample. Sometimes it takes 2 or more attempts. Unfortunately some people can do the same thing you're doing by using Publisher. If you're truly creative, give a little away, like an end of school event.
