I started a group last night and noone has received invites and there are no members pending.

Question

the management section does show a record of invites having been sent but it says : members pending 0----and noone has received the invite---did I do something wrong or is Yahoo just experiencing a hiccup?

sending invites has been glitchy for a long time. some servers block them spam, some people have spam ware in addition to that. also, invited members wont ever end up pending members, you'd look in your members list- the invite bypasses that approval.

make sure they didn't get the invite, that it's not sitting in their spam folder- if your group isn't invite only/ closed, send the URL of the group diectly to them and they can then join per the great big blue tab Join This Group
