I started a new job on July 14. I'm bored to death! They don't give me any work! What should I do?

Before you do anything, check with yourself to see if you had completed your own work in an excellent condition? After that, go to your immediate manager or team lead to ask if you can offer some help to your co-worker - which means you would like some more challenge at work. And they can assign you some more responsibility.

Talk to your boss, and tell him or her that you have time and the ability to take on more work, and is there some additional work you could do?

Where do you work?

Call them and ask for more hours, if possible.

Tell them you need more hours or you're going to have to look for a new job. They won't want to to quit, and will probably give you more hours.

If you're bored during you shift, depending on where you work, ask if there's anything else you can help out with.

If not, find a new job.

There's no point working somewhere if you're going to be unhappy.

Don't let them know that you are too bored because they might give u to omuch work. Just hang in there because at least you are getting paid and if you leave and get a hard job you wil regret it :)

If you don't like it quit.  Depending on where you work, July and August are slow production months.  You won't be worked that much, you may even get sent home.  Thats happened to my boyfriend.  They actually had voluntary and involuntary lay offs for the month of July and August because of slow production.  Soon enough you'll be getting worked to death.  Just be happy with being paid to do nothing.  Maybe you should ask your supervisor if there is more to do.
