  1. GPS, or they make things that roll on the ground that keep track of distance... pedometer is inaccurate because steps vary, and you cant always drive the distance...

try http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/  if you know the place you run on a map.

  2. Plot your route here

    http://www.usatf.org/routes/map/

    It's pretty accurate.

  3. There exists a device that measures how far you run. But I find it more effective to just run for a set time. Consider the time, not the distance. A 20 minute-40 minute jog should be pretty suffice. Any less and you may as well not have gone jogging, any more and you'll more than likely exhaust yourself.

  4. drive it in your car if you can ....check it there

  5. I know when you walk for every 20 minutes you have walked 1 mile so it should be the same for jogging.

  6. go to Google maps and chart ur distance or if you have an ipod and nike shoes get the i pod plus or go to walmart and get a step monitor thing

  7. Buy a pedometer. Roughly 2000 steps is a mile.

  8. Yes it is a pedometer.

Please walk or power walk or run. Jogging is bed for you, can cause bone and joints problem, buy some strapped on weights(for power walk) and a pedometer at a sports store and keep it on all day, book tells you how to convert steps to miles.

But in most city in one direction 4 blocks make a mile and in the perpendicular direction 8 blocks equal a mile. Measure your step and find out, 1 mile is 5280 ft, you can just guess it. Have a friend with car mark out the course for you with the odometer of the car. I guess you can walk at 3 miles per hour at relax but good normal rate walk 1/2 hour in the one direction and then walk back slowly increase the speed, but keep one way time the same you will cover more. If you run then my guess is 5 miles per hour to start with. Marathoner run at 11 to 12miles per hour. 100 meter time equals 60 miles per hour or batter.
