Okay, so I'm on Loestrin. I was supposed to start it on Saturday, but didn't pick it up from the pharmacy until Sunday. Sunday I took one pill, like I never missed one at all and continued taking one pill a day. When it came to the time of my period, I had very light bleeding for only a couple of hours, and after that, nothing at all. Could this have been my period or could I be pregnant?

  1. While there is always a chance of being pregnant (as no birth control is 100%) I would say it's unlikely that you are pregnant.  If you are truly worried, take a test.  I used to do this almost every other month and never got pregnant.

  2. I would say it's unlikely but to miss a pill in the first seven days of a new pack is the worst. You would be more likely to get pregnant by missing one in the first seven days than the other fourteen.

  3. Starting one day late is HIGHLY unlikely to have caused you to ovulate that cycle.  But anything is possible.  I'd go ahead and do a pregancy test, and hold off on starting the next pack until you are sure you aren't pregnant. (It's not uncommon to skip a period, or have a very light one from time to time, so if the pregnancy test is negative, and you are having no other symptoms,  I'd relax.)

  4. Anytime you do not use birth control properly, you could be pregnant.

The instructions would probably have told you to take 2 on one day and use back up.

  5. If you been taking it every day like your supposed to, then the pill can give you lighter periods to no periods, if you just started the pill then there is no way to be sure how your body is going to act to it.   Also since you did start you were using other forms of protection for atleast 2 weeks after starting? Your OBGYN would have told you this.

  6. the birth control pills will probably mess up your hormones and your system for about a week. don't worry, this is normal. it's just your hormones, and there's a high chance you aren't pregnant.
