  1. I had the same problem. You just have to go to the bathroom every two classes and change in a bathroom stall for gym. I also helps to wear longer shorts for gym. I would also say that it is ok to be nervous because every girl goes through it.

  2. Just start off wearing pads. Change it every few hours (depending on how light or heavy it is.)

but If you are going swimming then you must wear a tampon.

  3. I feel your pain

i hate having my period since mines SUPER heavy :(

    gym you can wear tampons

other than that wear pads or whatever you feel comfortable

  4. i was actually really excited when i got my period cause i was like YES IM A WOMEN! but now i hate them -_-.

Ok so at gyms i would say use tampons but they hurt like h**l!!!!! So i would use pads for the first through third year of my periods. At school where Always Extra Long ( its green cover ) THEY ARE EXCELLENT! I use them at school all the time and never leak! Which makes me happy x].

Hope this helps! Anyways good luck with periods

  5. im on my period now, and have school and gym tomaroww, school doesnt matter just where a pad and and extra one just in case and ask to goto the bathroom alot to check on it, gym is thesame thing, if your not comfortable then go in a bathroom and change, but all girls get it so it wont really matter

  6. Ok, first things first - please don't stress out about it :) It may seem scary at first, but every girl goes through this, and so we can all empathise with you here :)

At the moment, I would stick to pads, although you can use tampons if you wish to. You should change your pads between 3-6 hours, depending on how heavy your flow is.  If you want to use tampons, you should change these about every 4 hours, again depending on your flow.

This may seem a bit confusing at the moment, but don't worry, you'll get the hang of it soon and you will begin to understand your cycle more.

Gym will be fine - you can use either pads or tampons. If yo don't feel like taking part, the teachers will probably understand, so just tell them quietly

For school, I suggest you put a couple of pads (or tampons) in a small makeup bag, along with a spare change of underwear (incase you get caught by surprise) and some pain killers (incase you get cramps)

You may find yourself getting cramps around the begining of your period, and you can do the following things to help them:.

    - Take some pain relief tablets

    - have a warm bath

    - go for a walk/do some yoga, or something else similar - basically, do some light exercise

    - place a hot water bottle on your lower stomach

Try to avoid eating sugary and salty foods, and try not to drink to much caffeine if you find yourself suffering from period pain.

Around the time of your period you may get moodswings, so if you become rather emotional for no reason, you will know the cause of it

For about the first year or so, your periods will probably be irregular, so don't worry if they are late or if you skip one all together.

The average cycle is 28 days, but nobody is perfect, so yours could be longer.

Your period will probably last between 3-7 days, but it could last even longer. The length of your period will probably change over time as your body sorts itself out.

You will now probably feel like you have been bombarded with info, but the main thing to remember is don't worry (:

Your mum (and friends, most probably) are there to help you, so you could always have a chat with them if you feel stressed or scared.

It might be a good idea to take a look at this website for more help and advice: www.beinggirl.com

Take care, put your feet up, and relax with a nice big bar of chocolate (:

  7. whoa, your getting ahead of yourself! calm down! just wear a pad

    ~♥

  8. Pretty soon most of your girl friends will also have their periods. It may seem awkward at first, but in less than a year it will seem like a normal part of life.

You will also figure out what works best for you between pads, tampons, and even when the best time to change them is.

  9. id start wit pads then move to tampons they r easier but calm down its okay

  10. You have nothing to worry about try not to stress. If you are worried about if your period comes on randomly while you are at school try to keep some pads a or tampons handy. If you feel like you are too tired or something to do things in gym tell them it is you time of the month and you aren't up for anything today. They usually understand especially if it is a female teacher. But try not to stress it good luck =)
