  1. If you have Blondie hair they make special shampoo so that the chlorine in the water doesn't turn your hair green, but other then that you can just use your normal shampoo and just use a lotion you like, but make sure you shower right after you get out of the pool so you get the chlorine off your skin and out of your hair.

  2. alwyas wear sunblock! your hair will die if you end up to be any good at swimming and there's nothing you can do about it. you can delay your hair's death by wearing a swim cap and washing it after practice daily. get an endurance speedo swim suit, a drag suit, "fake" swedish goggles and dont ever use ear plugs!, get swim-ear drops....(i wish i had been told this when i started). swimming is the best sport, enjoy it

  3. any lotion will be fine

make sure you shower after every swim -with soap to get the chlorine off your skin, other wise you'll get dry and itchy

get a shampoo that strips chlorine out of your hair and a deep hydrating conditioner

Wear goggles so your eyes arent sore

Keep an extra bathing suit and towel in your locker or car at all times

beware of warts (from the dressing rooms)

  4. been swimming for nearly 15 years and my best advice to you is a tip goggle straps go INSIDE the cap, never on the outside, needed to point that out, anywho when I first started swimming I was real young and before then I had nice brown hair, NOW during swim season it tends to turn a blondish color which is alright cos it goes back to normal but just a heads up that if you see your hair turning into weed-like texture try using Ultraswim shampoo it does really work, also try wetting your hair before you get in so that way the chlorine doesnt stick as much.

as for lotion, after I took a shower[use loads of soap to make sure you get the chloroine out] I used vaseline lotion [ the brand not the actual petroleum jelly]  but honestly any brand is fine but if you want I reccomend the kind with aloe vera and things liek that cos they really do soothe the skin and prevent dryness, good luck mate.

  5. just make sure u do use lostion nd wash ur hair u can get shampoo dat people who r in chlorine all da time

  6. For skin you should be alright, maybe to start out with you'll be a little dry and itchy and stuff like that but as for needing a specific skin lotion it shouldn't be that bad, maybe about 1 out of 40 new swimmers needs skin lotion because of the reactions with the pool water.

But as for shampoo everyone should use anti-chlorine shampoo. It's found at many drugstores like Walgreen's, CVS and Rite Aid and other places like WalMart. Also with this shampoo there are actually 2 tricks to keeping nice, un-knoted hair during swimming season. #1: Keep the shampoo in your hair for at least 2 minutes, preferably 3 and no more than 5 minutes. #2: A few minutes after you rinse out that shampoo use your standard shampoo like Pert Plus or Head & Shoulders, do this because the anti-chlorine shampoo only targets the chlorine in your hair and not things like dandruff or other things with your hair.

  7. wait how old are you?.... um just wash ur hair after and i guesss u could put lotion on but if ur a guy idk

  8. i cant remember the brand name for the shampoo. but it has a simmer on it. understand what like 150s are( 6 laps)and stuff like that. where swim caps, and a speedo. makes you go faster. if your sharing a lane with people, make sure the faster one goes first and the slower one goes last or else youll get ran over.

  9. Ya, you need lotion. The chlorine drys your skin out. for hair: just take a shower afterwords. or take the hose and get your hair wet before going in and after, it repels and gets out the chlorine!

Congrats on starting the best sport in the history of forever

    good luck

  10. umm....firstly, u shud use a sunscreen lotion, and for your hair any shampoo that suits ur kind of hair will do. after a swim , dont forget to bathe properly, as chlorinated water can hv very bad effects on ur skin. as for the swimming , dont venture much into the deep end or try diving  until and unless u are sure of ur skills....but never forget to enjoy the water....its the BEST form of exercise !!! hv fun!!

  11. You don't really need lotion, however, your skin gets a little dry once in a while, so I advise you to use daily moisturizer.

For your hair, you should wear a swim cap, so less water reaches your hair.  If your hair does get dry, you could use like Pantene’s Relaxed and Natural Moisturizing Shampoo for Dry or Damaged Hair.

And if you swim in an outdoor pool, don't forget to use sunscreen. =3
