I'm 29 and my grandma just died who lives more than 1700 miles away from me in the midwest,

I just visited her two months ago, she was 90, always seemed very happy to see me,

i never thought i would cry but i just did hearing that today my relatives got to see her dead in the mortuary.

  1. Give it time. It will get better. For over a year after my grandfather died, I would catch myself picking up the phone to call him. Every time, a tear came to my eyes, but a few years later, that doesn't happen anymore.

  2. So sad for you! She is safe and painless dear friend! Was now nice for them to keep her death from you. Some times it wont hurt as much after it happened. I say this because you rGrandma is safe and secure with Our Lord Jesus!

  3. i am so sorry for your loss. my hubby is 28, and when we moved from pa to co, his grandfather died. it was heart wrenching. that was the last grandparent that he had on his dads side (he has NEVER met his moms side). My hubby did cry as well, and it is completely normal. please find a way to go visit for the funeral. it provides closure, and peace.

  4. I am so sorry for your loss...it takes time to get used to it trust me it is the worst feeling to lose a special person in your life...i always loved being around grandparents...even my friends grandparents when i hear that they have passed away i really get very emotional and i start to cry even more than they cry...just be tough and know that she is looking down on you to make sure you are safe...:]

  5. time will heal your wounds... she is in a better place now. she is not suffering and keep her memories alive.
