I still can't gain weight?

I recently posted a question regarding weight gain. I was asking for some advice on how to gain weight.

Again, I'm 20yrs old, 6'2" and I weight 135lbs.

I did some math, listened to some suggestions, and upped my caloric intake to over 5,000 a day. I wrote down EVERYTHING I ate and I didn't work out at all, to make sure I wasn't burning off calories I was trying to take it.

(The week of 11th-15th). That was two weeks ago. So, during my 5 days of constant eating, I felt I was gaining very little(if any). I weighed myself on the 5th day(on a full stomach) and I had gained 5lbs! I knew it wasn't going to be accurate, but I just wanted to see SOME sign of weight gain.

This week, I went back to my usual food intake and weighed myself today, and I am STILL 135lbs.

After doing all of my number crunching, I ate around 22,000 calories within 5 days, and I did not gain a single pound.

I am in excellent health, no complications whatsoever, I exercise a few days a week and I can't gain anything!!

Now what...

Any advice?

  1. Protein Bars have a ton of Calories in them, so when you want to snack on something pick up one of these rather than fruit. Also when your eating make sure your eating the higher calories foods such as white pasta, Olive oil, regular sodas and regular 2% milk. Normally to lose weight you replace these things with the healthier choice correct? SO simply reverse that method, and eat MORE junk and drink more soda. If this doesn't help, I would recommend seeing a dietitian and getting prescribed foods and pills to help you gain.

    i'm 6foot1 and i weigh 130 pounds.

    a few weeks ago i tried gaining weight (i'd gained about 7 pounds), but i lost it all within a few days. =[

  3. Go to a dietitian, they can help.

    I had some "protein powder" that had to go into my food, you cant even taste it. And i had some drinks that helped me gain weight. They were like milkshakes, but had everything in that a meal had. They are called clinutren drinks, they do them in strawberry, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. You can also get puddings aswell. I advise the chocolate and strawberry, the others taste awful.

  4. Try not to do alot of cardio, maybe just once a week.  Drink at least 1-2 protein shakes a day in addition to what you normally eat.  It sounds like you have a really fast metabolism.  Maybe you should consult with your doctor and a trainer.  Do not try to gain weight by eating fatty foods just eat more of what is good for you and alot of protein and carbs.
