  1. Have you tried melatonin?  It is natural and the body sometimes does not produce enough to make a person sleep.  I would check with your doctor first for interactions with other drugs but I would almost bet he will recommend it.  You can get it at pharmacies, Walmart and some Dollar Stores.

  2. You can kill time or exercise, but here is what you do not do:

Do not smoke before bed chew nicotine gum

    Do not exercise before

    Do not eat before bed

    This will cause temporary insomnia.

An adjustment as in climate,  drastic atmosphere change, or a move also  is a normal trigger for insomnia.

For mania that will not quit, make sure you have illegal drugs clean of your system after most of their 3 day course, tell your psychiatrist, & chart your cycle on a calender.  I assist the Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance & you can see your of these cycles by writing what is happening in your life or how you feel on a personal calender so you will know pretty soon when the next will begin & end.  Neat, huh?  No disrespect about the illegal drug stimulating jive.

  3. Find a reiki master near you and take training, practice it regularly.

  4. stop taking that s**t and exercise

  5. Have you tried totally organic stuff? Not sleep pills, but pills that have more of the stuff your body needs to make you sleepy. haha. something like that.

or exercise more, or spend more time outside during the day.

that always makes me sleep better at night.

  6. first your body is used to or rejecting the meds so i recomend stop taking the pills and restructure your diet no caffine no sugar only eat natural foods drink lots of water take a multivitamin

it will be very hard for a week but once your body gets used to treating it well it will reward you with sleep

our body were built that way but you have to be serious about it ask any doctor, if you treat your body well,  naturally it will adjust

and try to be active during the day and dont take naps

  7. Contact the doctor who prescribes your meds.  If you are on a lot of them, maybe they are interacting in a way that keeps you awake at night.  Or maybe the doctor can change around the times you take your meds.

  8. if you take medicine as you like, the anti body of your body will lost slowly and if in future if you need the same medicine then......it will not work,,you will need high dose..which will effect your mental health and sleeping tablets will destroy your mental thinking power too.....thx

  9. Sleeping tablets should be used short term, only!  INSOMNIA: Exercise, but not within 2 hours of bedtime. Have a warm bath, or shower, an hour before bedtime, then a glass of very warm milk, possibly with Horlicks, or one of the herbal teas, below, and use dimmer lighting. Put your mind in a position where it wants to shut itself off, and sleep. See insomnia treatments, in much more detail than can be included here, in section 3, at ezy build, below. Use one of the relaxation methods, in bed, after lights out, on pages 2, 11, 2.c, or 2.i, but they can take some time to learn, (progressive muscular relaxation excepted) so learn and become proficient in their use during the day.

An alternative is to use the EFT, in section 53, and pages 2.q, and 2.o, saying to yourself: "Even though I currently have a sleep disorder, I deeply and completely accept myself." (or choose your own wording) while you use the acupressure tapping. Some more; quick, and easy to learn, are at http://www.umm.edu/sleep/relax_tech.htm The progressive muscle relaxation, (most easily learned) guided imagery, and mindfulness breathing are known to be effective.

Find out which works best for you, in the daylight hours, so you will be prepared, come bedtime. For many people, a good idea is to develop a set "wind down" routine for the last hour before bedtime, so your subconscious mind learns that it is time to put thinking aside, and prepare for mindfulness, (awareness, without cogitation/purposeful thought) or the EFT, in preparation for sleep, but the idea with mindfulness is to not even think about sleeping: just drift off, naturally, during exercising those techniques.

Avoid TV, computer, or anything exciting in this hour, although reading a BORING! book is a good idea. I suggest that you try using the EMDR variant, below, prior to the mindfulness, or the progressive muscular relaxation, but after the EFT, if that method is chosen. Experiment, to find which combination works best for you.

In section 3: INSOMNIA: PAGE O - INSOMNIA: A COMPREHENSIVE POST a variant of Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing therapy is shown, which has been used successfully for those people suffering from insomnia, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and anxiety. It is easily learned, quick to use, yet can be very effective; although it is easy to be dismissive of such a seemingly unusual technique, give it a good tryout, for at least a few weeks, to see if it is effective in your case. I learned it from a book by a published clinical psychologist, and now use it every night, and find it works well.

Usually, I have a cup of chamomile herbal tea, an hour before bedtime, and employ many of the techniques in section 3. Others may prefer Sleepytime, by Celestial Seasonings, Relax, Be Sleepy, or valerian root, from supermarket tea, or health food aisles. Milk, or cream should not be used with herbal tea. http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris If the above doesn't work, you may need to attend a sleep clinic.

  10. It depends on what is causing your lack of sleep. For example, if your problem is anxiety, then sleeping medication such as Lunesta will not work, for anxiety you need something like Xanax If your anxiety is too persistent, then even Xanax wont work after a while you may have to take selective seritonin reuptake inhibitors such as Zoloft.

  11. STOP THE PILLS

    PILLS ARE BAD

go to the pharmacy and ask for flower herb tongue drops that relax u

they are very nice and sleep deeply :)

and make sure u dont have silly sleeping habits eg. drinking before bed / smoking / loud music etc. / COFFEE IS A BIG NONONOO!!
