  1. Space-time is most often compared to the deformation or curvature of a thin sheet of fabric such as a depressed trampoline in the middle of which a child just landed. In this analogy the sun creates a curvature of space-time in the same manner as the child stretches the trampoline’s fabric.

        Then the earth is deviated by the curvature of space-time, as a marble would be by the slope or the curvature of the trampoline around the child.

  2. To have a clear concept you must toil hard. Your quest if it is single-minded will take you there.

    Normally, we humans are familiar with 3 dimensions. Space-time is a 4 dimensional construct, difficult to imagine. Here, mathematics can come to your aid.

    Einstein has put the speed of light as an upper limit for all speeds. As that sets the limit for our perceptible (visible) universe. Universe can be 'modelled' as an inverted cone with principal axis as time. It is contained within cone's slant length that is the speed of light, as per this model. The plane perpendicular to this axis that is 3 dimensional is the universe at any instant. This space-time model (4 dimensions) can be worked out as an extension and by induction, of the familiar three dimensional world.

    In a polydimensional model, all dimensions should have the same unit (of length in this model). Time dimension needs to be brought on par with other length units by the following linking ('c'= speed of light)

    s = c t.

  3. Three 'real` dimensions, not quite euclidean, and one irrational?

    I wish I had a clear concept of it, but sorry, I don't.
