Question:

I stopped running...?

I used to run about 3 days a week but stopped when I went on holiday and haven't ran since (about one and a half months). I have gained around 7lbs but have continued to work out on my cross trainer and have noticed my legs are allot stronger. I plan to start running again today. Question is, will I find it really hard or be the same?

  1. Since running takes alot of endurance you will more than likely find it a little more strenuous but it shouldn't take long to get back to where you were also make sure to stretch before and after and maybe a little longer than normal just to help avoid cramping!

  2. it will probably be the same. seeing as, you have continued to work out.

  3. you may find it a little hard... but you should train yourself and return to your old state...

  4. Your body will remember your endurance, so when you start running again, it will take minimal time to get back up to speed.  Not like a person just starting out.  But a month and a half is not enough time off for it to really affect you.  So get out there and run!

  5. I'd say it will be a lot harder than it used to, but not as hard as when you first started running, just because that was how it felt for me after i stopped running for awhile.

  6. it will probably be a bit harder maybe you should start with speed walking and then grow to running in a couple of days or when you feel like you are ready too... but make sure you stretch or your legs will start hurting before you make it back
