  1. First off the Shovel head is devoted more towards trail/dirt jump riding than street stuff. Also Eastern bikes just aren't as good quality welding wise and just the overall setup of the bike. However Kink is a very good brand, but before you buy it just take a glance at Verde Bikes it is a new up and coming company which make some of the lightest bikes on the market.(Look at the Radia Prism and Spectrum). Most are under 26 pounds or so.

  2. Defiantly get the Kink. Eastern bikes honestly suck, their bars are not strong at all, and will probably bend very soon into riding, and their frames snap. Get the Kink.

  3. Buy the Kink.  I've heard a lot of complaints about Easterns components online and in real life.  Their cassette wheels catch a lot of negative comments for not being reliable/long lasting and seeing as rear wheels aren't cheap to replace that's not a good sign.  I have a friend with a Kink complete and it's a real nice bike, I would definitely recommend it over the Eastern.  Also check out FBM's new completes on a site like danscomp. they look solid.

  4. I'd rather buy a Stolen brand bike.
