I submitted my my application for a green card but I need to travel to my country...?

I'd like to know if I could get a permit to travel before I get my green card?

You need to file for I-131 or Advance Parole.Include in your filled out form a photocopy of I-94, biographical page of your passport and visa, 2 passport pictures and a copy of Notice of Action I-1797 of your I-485 or Adjustment of Status (green card) application.It may take 2 months to process.You can get more information and dowload the form I-131 on www.uscis.gov

You can get advance parole.  You'll need to file for an I-131.  http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

It can take a few months, so don't make plans yet.
