During a speedtest it shows 61 KBPS. Am I getting a right service I paid for, because I feel the connection is slower than it should be? DO you get buffering interruptions in youtube at this speed? Can you suggest a good speedtest site to check the speed?

  1. 256 kbps give you at the download 25.6 Kbs

512 kbps gives you 51.2 Kbs

if you download one file @ 22 K  for exapmle start dowloading another file and calculate both speed togther it may give you your full speed

cause downloading depends also on the server speed and server location

  2. Try this link for a speed test.

    http://www2.verizon.net/micro/speedtest/...

512 kbps is not really very fast for cable internet service.

But you should still do better than 61 kbps. I mean, some dial-up connections can get almost 56 kbps.

Check with your Internet Service Provider to see if they offer any speed improvements on their website. Many ISPs do these days.

  3. try to change your internet service provider and shift to MTNL it provide more speed then any other services..

and yes little buffering is required in youtube..

  4. First understand this.

Kbps means Kilo bits per second

KBps / KBPS  means Kilo Bytes Per Second

    512 Kbps = 512/8=64KBPS

slight fluctuations r must be allowed.

So basically u r getting the correct speed.

  5. The speed can fluctuate especially if you just got the service. Let it sit for a week and then check. Also, no you shouldn't have any problem on youtube with 61kbps.

  6. 512/8 =64 and  u getting 61 and it fluctuates

    so its coming fine

    no issue

  7. Go to www.mtnl.bolnet.com

Down in the lower half of the page you will find some link to chek ur broadband.

    Do it.

    And find out the speed.

If its wrong complain to your ISP
