1. Fashion illustration is much like taking notes. Most designers only use the drawings to show basic shape, fit and color. They usually have fabric and material samples along with the the drawing.

Concept is 90% of design, be it fashion, graphics or advertising.

That being said, there is a plethora of information on the web. For free. Just hit google and find the stuff you understand.

You can also go the template route.

  2. Well that's no way to go about it! If you really want to be a fashion designer, u dont have to be good at drawing. As long as you know what you want and can at least picture it in ur head, it'll be fine. However, if you really want to get better at drawing, art lessons work too. And there is NO WAY to do anything well without hard work and practice. So it's not possible to do it 'sooon'.

  3. Make a decision. Lots of applied practice - or not. Being a diva do\es not go with successful achievement in much else.

You need to train both your eye and your hand. Can yo take a drawing class? Find drawings you like, then compare then with pictures or lived people in similar clothes, and see if you can decide how to draw them. Get a pad of newspreint or other cheap drawing paper, plus soft pencils (no. 2 works, or softer), plus eraser. The way that I got started on life drawing was by sending for the drawing test for teh drawing-by-correspondence school I used to see in magazines. I practiced copying their drawings until mine was prett good, then I started trying to draw people or things I was looking at, and it was a lot easier.

Don't expect perfection right off. First try for a recognizable picture of what it is (a chair, a person...), then a specific one (that chair by the desk, Jody who lives acress the hall). Do it in steps, and one time focus on one thing (eyes, draped fabric) and the next time on another.

Depends on what you want and how willing you are to work for it. Then talent can help, but talent alone won't get it.
