  1. NO WAY!!! That would be sooooo bad for the horses! They could slip, fall and serriously hurt themselves. I hope it doesn't rain!!! I'm with you! I hope it doesn't!

  2. It's possible, Melissa- there is a nasty looking weather system in the Great Plains and South right now- it's the same one that brought tornados to Texas and Oklahoma yesterday. I won't be seeing that where I live- Delaware, like most of the mid-Atlantic and New England states, is under a ridge of high pressure that is keeping our weather quiet and beautiful this weekend. I hope the track will be fast for the Derby tomorrow- but in the spring, the weather is unpredictable at best. So cross your fingers and hope for the best.

  3. www.weather.com says it's true.  Chance of showers: 60%.  But it'll be hot...  78 degrees.  But it says scattered T-storms...  and having lived near there, I know it very rarely T-showers...  It would rain, but usually not thunder.  And the weather.com isn't the best at predicting when the weather will change.  I've found that the best way to decide whether it'll rain is wait until about 3-5 hours before, then look at the radar of the storms in the couple of states to the west, then decide whether it'll rain myself.  weather.com is so bad that it actually told me once that it was bright and sunny outside while when I looked out the window it was cloudy and downpouring.

It will probably rain in Louisville tomorrow...  but the chance of it raining during the 2 minutes of the Derby is probably very small.

  4. Well aparently it wasn't true! lol
