It is often suggested we do that for our country (or is it to keep US in?) so why not?  Charity begins at home.  And certainly your suspicion is based on more than the person's physical appearance and spoken language?  Yes?

Look, the GOOD jobs we had in this country were taken by aliens who never came to this country, we chased the jobs right to them with punitive taxes.  I wouldn't worry too much about a guy feeding his family by cutting lawns in the hot sun.

If you want to END illegal immigration in this country, then what  you do is place a TAX on hiring illegal aliens.  The tax could be something like $500,000 per day, per illegal alien.  Since it is a tax your neighbor could have his property seized and sold for unpaid taxes without all the "due process" BS of a criminal charge.  Then you could rest easy because you know your neighbor would never be STUPID enough to risk his property for an illeagal to cut his grass.

But we will never do this because all the politicians want illegal aliens in the country to cut the grass, pick the vegatables, wash dishes, etc.  Democrats want them beacuse they are another class of people they can exploit and impoverish for votes and political power, Republicans want them because they are another class of people they can exploit and impoverish to mow their lawns and provide cheap labor for business and avoid paying payroll taxes.  You buy into one side or another and want to build a wall  (who was it that said "Mr. Gorbachev...TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!)  ???

The problem is simple to solve and no politician even mentions it.

Tax the employement of illegal alliens to the point that to employ one would be economic suicide, the jobs will evaporate the next day.  Tax the provision of any service (other than basic life saving medical services) to an illegal alien.  You rent a house to one?  $500,000 TAX for each day.  

We will not have to round them up (an impossible task) they will RUN back over the border (if we haven't wasted our money on a fence to keep them in) to their socialist society which will suddenly look real good to them.  Then you can take down your wall and your neighbor can mow his own lawn

What the h**l do mean by, "What can I do?" Are you serious? I hate the terms we use now. That person your neighbor is hiring is a PERSON, not an alien. And since he is working it is likely that he is just trying to earn some money to support his family back in Mexico or Central America. So the better question is, "Why do I have to do anything?" The first thing I would do it approach your neighbor and ask him/her is she knows if the people doing the work are documented.  If they don't know, tell them you are going to contact the landscaping company and find out.  

If the landscaping company is evassive, then most likely they are, and you need to contact the local (or regional) ICE office and have them look into it.

You can take him/her a tall glass of lemonade

You can talk to them to learn a little about who they are and where they are from (They may have grown up one block over).  If they are here from another country, maybe you can learn what encouraged them to come to our country.

You can tell them they are doing a good job (if they are) and maaybe even get some work done yourself.
