I suspect that my secretary (who has a BIG mouth) went and told everyone that I was transferring to another department. I know that she was told this information by my supervisor. I suspect almost 99.99% that she was the one who told the whole office.... now people are coming up to me left & right asking me about my leaving. It's very annoying and I feel like my privacy has been invaded cause I am a private person... so this is really bothering me. Should I just drop it or confront her???

  1. The best thing to do is to confront her but do it in a professional manner. As you can see there is enough drama around your workplace and you confronting her inappropriately will only make things worse. You should take her to a quiet place where you are away from the your work habitat... taking her out to lunch would be a great way to do it. If she accepts just ask the questions you want the answers to and take it from there. Its no use in creating enemies when you can create friendships. I hope I helped.

  2. confront that *****. at the end of the day you'll look like an a*****e who doesn't know how to differentiate work life and personal life. no seriously, let it go. now you know better

  3. is it such a big deal get over it - you are leaving so what is your prob

  4. It probably wasn't the best choice to inform anyone that your were transferring, but now that the cat is outta of the bag...

I think that to avoid further confrontation and "bad talk" just try to deal with and not confront her. Wait it out till you can transfer. Any other confrontation may negatively impact your chances on transferring.
