  1. I learned everything from playing mario tennis on the gba and n64.

  2. Like you, I suck but enjoy it, both watching and playing. I try and look at it as exercise and getting a tan whiel playing lol. My game over the last few years has faltered, and became most frustrating. While I still play matches and such, I try not to get too discouraged, knowing I will most likley lose, but look at it as staying in good shape. You might want to change your way of thinking of how you approach the game, as well as get different hitting partners, on same level and above you. Not good hitting with same person all the time. Also can practice serves and groundstrokes against a concrete wall ( school yard or such), and even rent a ball machine from your local facility or/and coach.

  3. Take some lessons. You might feel like an idiot at first but chances are you'll be sorted out in no time. Get a slightly better buddy and play with him. Watching the professionals also helps a heap.

  4. practice against the wall, hit around with your friends or anybody. if you want to learn more i say search in the internet.

  5. always always always stand behind the baseline, my coach pounded that into my head for the whole season now i dont stand anywhere else!

  6. hit the ball against a wall

  7. Do one private lesson with a coach, you will feel 100 times better.

But other than that when you warm up have your partner toss some balls at you so you can just hit and get into a rhythm.  And when a ball is coming at you when it hits the ground say "ball" and when you make contact say "hit" that will also give you better rhythm.

Mara, why would you always want to stand behind the baseline? That makes no sense, if the other player hits really short balls, then you would want to step in front of the base line...?

  8. play... u just gotta get out there and practice constantly. that is the only way to get better. I used to have no forehand but i went out everyday and played for at least 3 hrs and now i am #49 in my section in rankings. (I was in the 200's)

  9. practice your swing against a backboard...practice makes perfect!
