Question:

I take Trazodone, Concerta and Lamictal can this cause symptoms of anmeia or a thyroid problem(in my family)?

I take Trazadone 50 mg, Concerta 36mg, and Lamictal 50 mg twice a day.

I get extremely tired for no apparent reason and it gets worse if I do anything remotely active. I get plenty of sleep, seven to eight hours a night. I stay really cold though and I get dizzy or lightheaded. The problem comes and goes but I just recently got blood work done for anemia and a thyroid condition. I haven't gotten the results back yet. Thyroid problems run in the women in my family. I'm fifteen going on sixteen. I have no heart condition either.

This problem started after I ran track and passed out during a run.

Can this all just be from the side effects of my medication?

  1. All three medications that you are taking can cause lightheadedness or dizziness. Fatigue is also another side effect with these pills. If you are cold all the time, you could have a thryroid problem.  That is one of the symptoms of thryroidism (hypo or hyper).  And if you are anemic, that would explain why you are cold.  Thyroid conditions run in my family too and I know of 2 family members who are always cold.  But don't fret yet, wait until you have your blood results. And be sure and tell your doctor about getting dizzy. Your doctor can adjust the medications or switch you to another.  Good luck.
