Question:

I take lyrics personally?

For some reason, even though I know it's ridiculous and insane, I take lyrics of songs personally; as if the singer is actually talking to me...

This happens usually when the song is about something bad or depressing. It's really annoying, because it creates delusions of inadequacy... And it gives me the feeling that I will be a failure no matter what I do. Help?

  1. write your own songs, discover your own thoughts

  2. That is the beauty of music.  If it touches you personally, it has done what it was designed to do.  Even if it evokes sadness, it has succeeded.

It is a way to release feelings that we oftentimes have no other way of dealing with them.  It happens to me all the time and I am grateful.  If I cannot relate and respond to music, I would lose my mind.  You are fine!  You are definitely NOT paranoid!

You are simply one of the more sensitive souls on this God-forsaken planet.  Use music to your advantage.

  3. ever heard of that song "Nobody likes you everyone left you they all out without you having fun" ? Yeah I take that personal, and its not because I m delusional cuz its real for me. IDK whats your problem is but if you cant resist then dont listen to it. I listen to that song everday so it will lower myself esteeme.

  4. Talk to a psychiatrist.  Sounds like paranoia.

  5. well I guess if I would say dont then it wont work but for the most part you dont seam to have a issue knowing reality from fantasy its just you feel moved by the lyrics. So with that in mind I would have a mix of songs you can have on hand to improve your mood. Everyone is touched by lyrics you just sound like you are moved a little more, I recommend adding additional "up-beat" songs to your mix to pick you up from your low from the last track and if that is not possible then just have a cd ready for when you go to bed you know

  6. The key to writing a good song is to make as many people as you can take it personally. I think that you are actually an empath and the music hits a chord in you that fires your empathic energies- how do you feel when someone you know has a traumatic experience? Do you feel as if it is also happening to you? If you do then you need to be careful to see that it is your empathy and LOVE that part of you even in sorrow and pain, because you can keep humanity from being cold and hard by expressing your understanding to people.

  7. i think that your extremely paranoid

  8. don't listen to sad music anymore. listen only to songs that make you feel happy.

  9. umm well you could just stop listening to music but if that dosent float your boat you could try to remember that teh singer dosent know you and you are not a failure. or if you hear a depressing song, listen to a happy song a dozen times to feel better!!
