  1. Soma is a muscle relaxer. It is also highly addictive and a controlled substance in some states, but not all. The only drug that is truly deemed effective for rls is Lyrica. If you have insurance, i would recommend that you ask your doctor why he prescribed Soma instead or Lyrica.
