I've been dependent on them for over a year. I started out taking maybe two a day, last week there was a few days I took 16. That scared me, I've been trying to only take 8 a day that is what my dr. said but she would rather have me taking 4 a day. I don't want to take them at all anymore, I only take them so I don't have to feel the pain from withdrawal. I feel like it is a vicious cycle I 'm having a hard time breaking. I just need someone who has done this to let me know how it works and if it works. Thanks

  1. Google "kratom" A ton of people use it to get off of hydrocodone. It is all natural, but is suppose to work great.  Some places will even overnight it to you.

If you don't want to do that, try getting into a suboxone program. I had a friend that took 45 hydros a day and the suboxone got her off of them.

  2. I am concerned with the amount ... You said 16 - was it 16 a day?  WHOA!

IF YOU ARE seriously doing 16 a day, CALL your physician NOW-

She is the ONLY one that can help you cut back

I won't even attempt to advise - and She needs to know that you are in that much pain!!!

There are meds to help with  withdrawal

I was given zanaflex and that worked fine.

    Also

You don't explain what your pain is, in order to understand what you are going through. But, I can imagine  if you were prescribed to have at least 4, I can believe it is significant.

First you need to get it in your head that you need to stick with the prescription.  If you took 16  Was that in one day?  then you are having significant pain and going off them totally with out something in it's place is gonna be difficult.

The problem with you taking 16 - and only trying to take 8 but she wants you on 4- the pills do not add up.

Please call the Dr and get other meds.

    The only other suggestion is

1, Start with What were you prescribed to begin with.

if you need something in between try tylenol.

    or ask for

(i hate this suggestion, but for some it works a med you can ask for is a breakthrough med like Oxycontin or Oxy IR

Go to her with this suggestion- or maybe a muscle relaxor or anti- inflammatory.  If you need 16, then It seems you have a lot of inflammation somewhere and you may possibly need one.

the other alternative is maybe an injection of cortisone.

(since i dont know what your problem is- I dont know want to totally recommend, but an epidural comes to mind if you have a bad back)  the other strong anti-inflammatory is Toradol.

I suggest thta you get to the DR immediatly this week ASAP(lol- get the hint) in other words NOW

i would hate to see you do harm to yourself and ruin the trust relationship you have with your DR.

Feel free to edit your answer and I will tell you more of what I think - with more info.

This is the best I can say with what you have told us.

Msg me  if you would like to talk!

  3. Lock them up and give someone else the key. Let them hand them out to you.

or you might consider checking into rehab. 16 is way too much, talk to your doctor.
