I teach Jr. church, are there any really cool lessons for palm Sunday i teach ages 9-11 yrs?

  1. I am catholic so I don't know if this will fit your understanding of Palm Sunday but I always allowed my children to act it out.  I would quickly review most of Jesus' miracles and then I would explain that all the people were celebrating that Jesus had come to town.  In the old days they waved palms at parades.  We would make construction palm leaves and green streamers on a stick.  One person would be Jesus and the others would stand in a line two by two.  "Jesus" would walk inbetween the line and stop at each one as they were cheering and say "Why were the people happy that Jesus came to town?" and they would say their individual answers.  You take their answers down and have them make a poster with their answers and why they are happy that Jesus came for them personally and entitle it, We are happy that Jesus Came to Town!

  3. can you teach them how to braid the palms and make crosses out of them -they are so pretty.

  4. -just thought I would share this I heard on manna fest on day .[our hands like the palm leaf ] when we go to heaven we will be waving our hands like palm leaves singing holy holy holy to the lamb of God. not much but It just came to mind. I found it interesting.   <><  God bless
