Question:

I there any way to recover a deleted file on a Mac??

All I can say at the moment...is c**p.

I just accidentally deleted an important word document when I last emptied the trash on my iBook G4. It uses Mac OS X...

I'm a little scatterbrained at the moment from frustration (so pardon my sporadic typing) but is there any possible way to retrieve a file that has been erased? ANY help would be fantastic. Thank you.

  1. Umm...if you backed it up, then you can probably look for the backed-up file, but I'm assuming you didn't back it up, so . . . you're screwed.

Sorbon 1, I don't think you know what the asker's problem is. You see, he/she doesn't have a problem with his Mac, he accidentally deleted a file and needs to somehow recover it.

  2. You have to buy a new one, that's the solution to every Mac problem.  Seriously, call Apple Tech and I bet that's what they say.

  3. Which OS are you using? 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard?

I assume it is not backed up with Time Machine.

Do a quick google search for the issue. There are a few software options, but they will cost you.
