  1. There's only "High Quality" in some cases.

However, the anime site "Crunchyroll" has HD.

  2. Haha! I wish there was but no sorry there isn't. YouTube is just YouTube and high quality is limited to only a few thousand videos currently uploaded.

Who knows, maybe they'll make an HD YouTube sometime in the future.

  3. Youtube has the capability of watching videos in High Quality, but there is no HD Youtube.

  4. ony in certain vids

  5. No I don't think so. But you always just try watching the videos that say high quality.

  6. Nope, HD uses alot of space to store whihc wiiht billions of videos is not feasible, also Youtube is designed to be accesd by the masses, and HD requires fast boradband to strema quickly enough, which most users dont have.

Stage6, made by DivX, usedto offer HD videos, but it was too expensive to run and unfourtnalyy shut donw not too long ago, whihc if youtube switiched to HD might be its own fate.

I know for game triaers i go ot Gametrialers.com which offers HD vdeos, and Apple Trailers for HD movie trailers, dont know any music or webshow HD alternatives.

As a rule of thumb 720p ( the lowest HD) will fill about half your screen, ( Youtube is about 1/8th) and 1080p (Full HD) will fill your whole screen. so any clip that says it is in HD on youtube, may have been uplaoded as a HD format, but when youtbe convert it to paly in youtube format, it gets scaled down to SD.

jsut go on Apple Trailers get the 420 p and 1080p downlaods of a trailer, make them full screen and you ll see what Youtube Vs HD is like.

  7. I think you can watch higher quality videos, but only certain video's do this.

  8. Youtube compresses the video files, so it's easier on bandwidth, and quicker to download. However, as of late, a "Watch in High Quality" has appeared. I believe youtube is going to give that option to all videos eventually, but currently, it doesn't exist. Well, almost.

You see, you can actually force all videos to be in high quality now. By adding &fmt=# (# being a specific number, like 9, or 18), you can watch any youtube video in its original format, or something that's at least a bit better in quality. There's multiple formats. 6 is higher quality Flash Format (in other words, it's the same video file, but with better specs than the one you are already watching), and 18 is MPEG-4 Format. I usually add 18, as the sound is then Stereo.

It's pretty confusing. The point is though, if you add &fmt=18 to an end of a link, you will be watching that video in higher quality. I recommend 18 personally. There's a lot more information in my source.

Oh, and currently, there is no TRUE HD video on youtube... yet. You never know though, they might release a even higher quality option in the future.

  9. i guess, some of em are availbe in hd, if you see a link, watch in hd, the click it

    eg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iFyfJwQP...

thast a hd one, see theres a link to watch it in SD

  10. Hiya J,

There isn't many HD style vids on You Tube but I have a little trick that helps.

Go to the video you want to watch. In the address bar copy this onto the end of the address &fmt=18. Now press go or enter. Most videos will now be much higher quality.

I've been doing it for ages and use it for buring copies of the vids too lol
