  1. Its not a small price when millions of ppl are paying that.

  2. $10 a gallon is not going to help the beaches of fishing. The money goes to oil companies, who don't give a rats behindabout the environment.

  3. I think it should be left up to the states.

  4. No. s***w the fish; Humans are at the top of the food chain, only a lower life form would think that.

  5. I think it's too much money to be sending to governments that mean to do us harm.

If that $4.00 p/g stayed in this country, I would not be so agitated.

  6. The price of gas has no relationship to the cleanliness of the water, and at $4+/gallon, a lot of people are suffering.  Many will have to choose between heating their homes in the winter and eating.  I'm sure they won't care how clean the beach is.  I also expect that there will be a lot more homes lost to fire when people use alternative methods to heat their homes.

  7. The tax we pay for our gas, goes for road repair, and has

nothing to do with our beaches and lakes.

You must be living inland, where you can smell the roses.

And not on a beach front where you smell the stench.

If you eat these fish, which come out of these lakes, with their

high content of mercury. It is not improving your health.

So, you are "not" paying a "small price," not now, or ever.

When you may end up with cancer. <}:-{(

  8. We haven't had an oil spill in nearly 40 years so what are you talking about?  (As a result of drilling)

BTW  there are hundreds of oil platforms in the Gulf right now.  How much tar is there on the beach nearest you?

  9. Pssssst.....Name me one thing....One thing in your life that is not dependent on oil...can't do it, can you......It takes the work of six diesel engines to put a meal on your plate...wanna eat that beautiful sand.

European countries are drilling in the ocean all the time and have developed safe methods.  Not one rig...not one rig caused damage during Katrina.

Many windows are closing for us...and the available plentiful food window is one of them....Also, do you want much of the world's oil supply controlled by those religious fanatics in the mid- east whose goal is to topple our society and impose Islam on us.

It is not about gas prices.

  10. And your full of yourself. There has never been a beach hurt by off shore oil drilling. Do we need alternate energy yes. But not at the cost oif going hungry. We need balance and we have the resourses to have it. And it's not my republican fault that you can only aford a honda. I drive a Charger and it costs me one hour wadge to fill the tank. whoopdie do.

  11. no

  12. You must not drive very much.

    fs

  13. No, most people do not get the luxury to enjoy these as oil prices have raised the cost of everything.

The four dollars a gallon for gas are just a prelude for what is to come in the near future..what price will you say is too high fo for gas?

Oil production has "peaked" and there is a limited time left to use this time to get off being oil dependent.

ALL things most come to an end.  Even our fossil fuel...with 7 billion people on this planet (and growing_( how long the world without oil may be able to support 1 1/2 billion people.

  14. And can you guarantee that it won't go any higher? No you can't because it is already going higher so at what point do you say enough is enough?

  15. I agree, but unfortunately $4/gallon oil prices aren't doing anything to keep beaches clean or give us safer water to fish in. It would take much higher prices  and some cleaner alternative to do that.

You are right though that environmentalists should not be complaining about high oil prices.

  16. That's probably because you do not have a job and family to support. Try living where you need heat in the winter and must commute farther than your hippie bicycle can take you to feed your kids.

  17. Eco-nerd! Give me the money to fill my truck up! Or shut up!

  18. yea i live on the gulf too...haven't seen oil on my beaches in a while. and there IS drilling going on.

  19. haha clean beaches?? they ARE drilling the the gulf of new mexico!! hows that for clean

  20. I think that paying $4.00 a gallon is worth saving our oceans but you know how politics go the economy comes before the environment....Maybe we should make a law that makes oil and gas companies spend a certain amount of money on research for new energy and or better millage veichles
