Well after he wins Hamburg, knock on wood. And for womens tennis, I will go with Serena if she's not injured or Sharapova if she is, though I would like to see schnyder or kuznetsova win it.

  1. Nah, I think you're wrong. Nadal just won Hamburg coming from 5-1 down in the first set taking it 7-5. He also won 2 other clay tournaments. Federer keeps s******g up his forehand and backhand at the most crucial points and I don't think he is getting any better. Nadal has the fighting spirit and never gives up. Nadal is probably going to win.

  2. We hope he win the Roland Garos also we love Nadal but he is to win all ways. Roger battle every year for the win and is so close. we hope it is nice win for him this time.

  3. I think you might be right about Federer. My friend also had a funny feeling he would this year so he put a bet on him. I think he finally has what it takes and Nadal isn't on top form so maybe!

  4. I think Djokovic and Sharapova will win the French this year.

  5. I think you're right!

According to expert handycapper Dave Price: Because Federer has never won the French Open, we can get him with more value than in any other tournament. The thing to remember is that it's not like the world number one falls apart on clay. He has finished runner up at the French to Nadal in each of the last three years. Before going down in the semis of the Australian Open while suffering from mono, Federer had reached 10 consecutive Grand Slam finals, making him the best bet to win any Grand Slam tournament. After being denied at a shot to win the Australian, I expect him to be on top of his game at the French as he goes after the only Slam he has never won. Federer losing in the Australian was the worst possible thing which could have happened for Nadal as now the world number one will be even more focused. Federer was the one to beat Nadal on clay to end the Spaniard's record clay streak and now I like him to end Nadal's run at the French. For Nadal to win this one he would tie Borg's record of 4 straight title wins in the Open Era.

Odds are 4:7 on Nadal, 9:2 on Fed, 6:1 on Djoker with the longshot being Juan Carlos Ferrerro at 100:1.  I find this funny since out of their last 4 head to heads JC and Rafa at 2:2 with one win each on hard and one win each on clay. So in addition to Fed maybe I should drop a couple bucks on the long shot.

As for the Ladies my pick is Sharapova so that she can complete her Grand Slam. She is only missing the French and as the #1 ranked player with really no competition it should be hers to loose. I am assuming that Serena's injury was real and not faked so if Serena wins then we know that she was up to her old tricks again and pulled a Djokovic by withdrawing from Rome before having to play and risk getting her butt kicked by last year's French Open Jr. Champion Alize Cornet the Hot lil 18 year old Frenchie who happens to also be playing Hot right now. Elle est chaud, oui?

  6. yea I agree, I think this is the year that he is gonna win roland garros and wimbledon...

  7. He would be very much looking forward to it. He made it to the finals at Hamburg, which is a good sign for him. If he loses tomorrow, he will not lose too many points, but if he wins tomorrow, it should give him give him some confidence going into the French Open. As a Fed fan, I am happy that he does not have to worry about his no.1 position going into the French Open. If Agassi could win the French Open at 29, there is no reason why Roger cannot do it. Roger has the arms and ammunition for it, just needs to apply them. Go Rogi !

  8. The result in Hamburg is a preview of what to expect come the French Open....last year, Roger ended Rafa's amazing streak on clay but Nadal went on to win the French Open....this year, whoever wins this tournament may well be the losing finalist in Roland Garros....but who knows?

  9. no i dont think so

  10. I don't think Federer will win the French Open.  Either Rafa or Nole will, and Serena just pulled out of Rome with a back injury, so her chances at winning the French have dipped in my opinion.  I think Jankovic will win it.

  11. Federer will win French Open. It's now or never. I would love to see Sharapova win her first French. If she does, then we know she have won every slam at least once. She's 21 and young. She will win French soon.

  12. It's very possible, but tough to predict this year, because of his flukey playing so far. Hopefully he's back on track.

Like Terminator said, Federer had reached 10 consecutive Grand Slam finals, making him the best bet to win any Grand Slam tournament.

  13. I think Rafa will win this years french Open for the 4th time in a row :) Vamos Rafa !!!

  14. yes i agree that Roger is going to win this. he is getting better on clay and nadal is his only real challenger.

  15. Nope I don't think so, both the French and Hamburg. I'm gonna go with Rafa, he will win the French, and Hamburg most probably.

edit- sorry, Federer just lost Hamburg. good for Rafa though! :)

  16. I've always believed that Federer would win the French this year, because it's almost pre-destined to happen. Think about it, he's got this illness mono zapping his energy, he's losing, only won one title so far in the entire season and everyone in the world, except some, believe Federer's reign as the tennis king is over, or he's too old and the younger, hungrier players, are taking his crown. He probably wouldn't admit it, but I know Roger has heard his critics saying he's through and it's ticked him off after all the hard work he's done to become who he is. Roger will be seriously motivated to go into a grandslam he's never won before and go at it full throttle and show everyone whoever doubted him that the king is still alive and well. Roger has never been one to to have to say what he will do, he's always let his racket talk for him, but I think this time he's really going out there to put on a show for the whole world to see. I think he will win the other remaining slams too, a gold medal at the olympics and the tennis masters cup at the end of the season. Fed will return to prominence at Roland Garros.

As for the women, I will go with Serena as my favorite too, though she did pull out of Rome with a back injury, hopefully she'll go ahead and rest all of next week and she'll be ready. Serena has won many clay titles, and she's won the french before so she knows what it takes to win on clay, but she has to healthy, so she should rest next week. Other people that could take it are Ivanovic or Kuznetsova.Sharapova could if she doesn't have a tough draw when she gets to the later rounds, she's not a very good clay court player, she never has been, so if she gets to say the quarters and faces maybe Serena, she'll get beat because Serena is faster and will run Maria all over the court. But overall if she's healthy and rested, I'll take Serena.

  17. i don't think roger's gonna win the french, if rafa doesn't win it, djokovis will (wich i really hope doesn't happen)

as for the ladies, i hope serena takes it, or dinara safina.-

  18. I would like him to lose in final against Djokovic.

  19. i hope rafa still wins it

  20. If Federer wins Hamburg, I think that will tilt the confidence balance in his favor.

  21. i think he will have a chance to win it,like he did have last year and year before, but he should change his tactics and take all the chances he will get and i'm sure that he will be given opportunities to win

  22. Excellent answer by terminator! What more can I add? It's gonna be Federer's French Open this year, for sure. What's more, he will win the Wimbledon, the Olympics and the US Open, along with the French Open.
