Ever since I started taking generic Wellbutrin (Budeprion XL), things aren't the same as when I was taking the brand name. I even read that the FDA is investigating the pharmaceutical company that makes Budeprion (it's Israel based TEVA).

And the pills for the generic kind are HUGE. I don't like it. I won't ******' put up with this ****. I want name brand WELLBUTRIN XL 150 and Lexapro 10 mg, and Ativan 0.5 mg.

  1. You can have what you want as long as you pay for it.  There is proof that some pills do not contain what they are supposed to contain. . .another rip off by China.  There are differences in pills and some are very slight but they can't be exactly the same and it takes very little to have bad side effects.  Insist on what you want with the people that can do something about it.  I went through that with my blood pressure medication and I ended up thinking I was going to have a heart attack, paid $30K for a heart cath and all I needed to do was get off one pill and back on a similar one.

  2. America and Israel have strong ties, and I don't think the Taliban would have anything to do with pharmaceuticals and if they did we would not purchase.

  3. This is why certain pills that i take for my schizo-affective disorder are only brand name. Ativan is such a low dose do you even need it? that can help you stop feeling that way sometimes. If your that worried exchange it for the brand name, and cough up alot more money.

  4. Speak with your doctor about your concerns. You need to be more specific about how the generic is making you feel. Just saying that the effects are not the same as the name brand may not be enough to justify to your insurance company that you need the more expensive name brand.

  5. Take what's left of your medication to the pharmacy and have them change it out with the brand name.  When you fill a prescription, it is your choice if you want a brand name or generic.

  6. Many people have problems with switching to generic welbutrin XL.  The reason is, even though the budeprion is no longer under patent and so can be made generic, the release system of the welbutrin XL is still under patent, so the generic release system is not the same.  So you are not being poisoned.  You are getting the same drug.  It is just not being released into your body in the same way/at the same rate. Is being released much faster initially, and not having as much drug left later.  I have never been on the XL but have heard the pills are NOTICIBLY different.  My understanding  is that Welbutrin XLs relese system works from a membrane that coats it that the drug is slowly released through, while the generic release works like most other slow release drugs in just the pill takes longer to break down and release the drug (which means the pill has to be larger)

See if your insurance will cover if your Dr writes  "brand name nessessary".   If not then see if you can try the SR.  That i dont think has the same issues with generic. Is a 8 hour release instead of 24 hours so your dosage will be split into taking it most likely 2 times, possibly 3.  Is what im on with no issues

  7. You're not being poisoned.

Wellbutrin and bupropion are the same exact thing. It's like Coca-Cola and Albertson's brand cola.

Don't even dare asking for Ativan by name. Mention you have panic attacks and they'll probably put you on some type of anti-anxiety medicine.
