darkened but I am a little confused- Just around the nipple itself it's almost a purple-ish color. Is this what darkening of the areola is? I also have little bumps appearing on the actual areola- is that normal too?

  1. yes your areolas get larger and turn darker during pregnancy..happened to me and I'm 30 weeks along.

  2. Oh yeah, the bumps, very normal .... they have a name for them actually, cant recall right now!  Sounds like you could well be.  How about peeing (like ridiculously often!) that's a dead giveaway :)  You can test on the first day of your next due period, I actually just tested a couple of days earlier and still got a positive result.

  3. There are many physiological changes that occur during pregnancy and changes to the b*****s during the first three months are most obvious, they include; enlargement of the areola (the dark ring of tissue surrounding the nipple) and prominence of the sebaceous glands (small raised bumps around the areola. The vaginal area will take on a blueish hue in colour and there may be an urge to urinate more frequently than usual.  Another sign of course is the absence of your monthly menstrual period.  It is never to early to test for pregnancy!  A blood test will and is the most accurate way of determining if you are pregnant.  The home pregnancy tests which require a urine sample are not 100% accurate and can also give a reading of a false positive!  Do not wait for such an important answer!  If you believe there may be a chance you could be pregnant than please go to a walk in clinic or a hospital and have a blood test done.  It is the best way to determine if you are pregnant without a doubt.
